FIRST MINORITY LEADER TAKES REINS AT CHAMBER
Evelyn Hopkins, the stylish, whip-smart and, dare we say, sweet corporate counsel for Florida Crystals Corp., was inducted on November 2 as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches. She is the first person of Hispanic origin to lead the Chamber in its 108-year history – a step that reflects today’s diverse ethnic balance of our population and business base.
“In this new role, I believe I can amplify the partnership between the Chamber and our business community for the benefit of the entire business ecosystem in central Palm Beach County,” she said. “I have the advantage of being a part of the leadership of one of the county’s largest private employers and the world’s largest cane sugar refiner. I appreciate the natural alignment of Florida Crystals, with its 60-year history in Palm Beach County, and the Chamber’s 108 years of local leadership. It’s a beautiful match that will pay big dividends to all as we continue to explore exciting ways to help this community thrive and prosper.”
You gotta admit, around our town, business truly is a pleasure!
