How do you improve the downtown visitor experience virtually overnight? Easy. Give an army of informed downtowners bold, conversation bubble-shaped buttons that say Talk to Me! This is how you get the conversations started in a coffee line or at GreenMarket, making Downtown a friendlier place, literally overnight.

Look for the colorful bubble-buttons on lapels, collars, purse straps and… whatever, all around town. The idea was presented to the West Palm Beach DDA by O’Donnell Agency as part of its PR program to market the downtown district, boosting the visitor and stakeholder experience at little cost.

“A friendly face and happy human experiences are powerful marketing tools,” said Carey O’Donnell, who conceived the idea. The DDA is selecting locals from every walk of life who know and love downtown to serve as unofficial area ambassadors.

While we all love our smartphones, there’s no replacing good old-fashioned human interaction. So go ahead, Talk To Me!
